I have been leading and running Christian Community Children’s and Youth camps for the past 24 years in South Africa (8 years) and England (16 years). After completing a degree in Chemical Engineering in Cape Town, South Africa, I worked 2 years in the petroleum industry. I then worked 2 years as sound engineer in the film industry in Johannesburg and then 9 years as a bio-dynamic farmer at Camphill West Coast community for adults with special needs. I then studied at the priest seminary in Stuttgart and was ordained in 2001. I then worked 8 years in the Johannesburg congregation and 16 years in the Stroud congregation in England. I have been the priest in the Spring Valley, NY congregation since September 2025 and look forward to taking up the East Coast Childrens’ camp work in the coming years. I have three children (and 2 grandchildren) and my wife, Judy, is a huge supporter of the work in the congregation and beyond – and keeps my body and soul together. I am 64 years old and not quite as energetic as in my earlier years, but still have a huge passion for working with children.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Daniel met the Christian Community in Boston, MA, while he was doing his Ph.D. in pure mathematics at MIT. Shortly after this momentous meeting, it became clear to him that he was called to the priestly vocation in our movement. After finishing his Doctoral Studies, he began his studies in the Seminary of the Christian Community to see if this inner calling to priesthood was a true voice of God.

After studying in the Seminaries in Toronto and Stuttgart and doing an internship in Hannover, Germany, Daniel was ordained in Toronto on the 7th of July 2024. He spent his first year of priesthood helping to establish the community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. And in August 2025 he began his work in the Christian Community in the Greater Washington-Baltimore Area.

He is full of joy for an opportunity to join the team of the Camp Harmony Lake this year in service of nourishing the religious life of children.
